Boat Stickers

ABH09003.jpg

Roaring Brook Lake requires stickers for all boats used on the lake. Boat stickers identify boats that belong to residents and help to protect the lake from invasive species. They also help you get your boat back if it ever goes missing.

To keep your sticker from peeling off, clean the area well before attaching. The best way — cover your sticker with transparent Gorilla tape.

Note that approximately every 10 years, RBL requires that all boats be re-registered and re-tagged. If you have a green tag (or any other color tag) you will need to replace it this year — even if you just got it! The new tags in 2021 are orange. This retagging lets us identify discarded and derelict boats and get them off the racks, so that there will be room for the boats we love and use.

  • Please fill out a separate form for each boat you wish to register. By having the color and type of a boat (and, ideally, the Vessel ID #) we may be able to identify your boat and get it back to you, even if the sticker has fallen off. This can also help you in the unlikely event that your boat is stolen.

There is no need to apply for beach and car tags. They will be delivered by the lake supervisor. If you have lost your tags please email.

Car tags

Each property-owner is entitled to two tags. Please hang the tag on the rear view mirror whenever you are parked at a District-owned parking area, including beaches and boat launches. If you have more than two cars, we ask that you share the tags.

Guests may use one of your tags on their car provided they are accompanied by the property owner.

Lost or stolen tags must be reported to the beach superintendent or to the District Clerk in Town Hall. Lost or stolen tag numbers will become invalid once reported. New tags will be issued once the lost or stolen ones are properly reported.

Property owners who rent their homes will be responsible for the tags associated with that house. Owners are expected to retrieve the car tags once the renter's lease expires. Tags will only be issued to the property owner.

Resident car tags allow the beach superintendent to quickly identify unauthorized cars in the parking areas, and, ultimately, are part of our efforts to control invasive species entering the lake.

Beach tags

The privilege of using the beaches and boat launches is restricted to RBL homeowners and long-term renters.

Each property-owner is entitled to four Beach Tags. Please attach the tag to a beach bag or blanket or other easily visible spot where you are seated. Only one beach tag is required for each small group of people at the beach.

You do not need to wear the tags.

If you have a guest, your guest may use one of your tags. However, we ask that all guests be accompanied by the property owner.

Owners are expected to retrieve the beach tags once the renter's lease expires and to use the same tags for the next renter. Tags will be issued to the property owner and not to the renter.

Beach tags that are displayed visibly allow the Beach Superintendent to quickly identify unauthorized visitors to RBL beaches and boat launches.
