Overpass native plant landscaping
On Sunday, Dec. 7, 2020, The NYSDOT Landscape Architect, Jason Wolfanger, and the NYSDOT Environmental specialist, Jenai Rohlif, spoke and answered questions to an engaged and upbeat RBL audience.
When complete, the Pudding Street Overpass planting may be the largest native installation in Putnam County, with 84 native trees, hundreds of native shrubs, and even more native perennial flowering plants, sedges, and grasses. It will provide food and shelter for insects, birds, and other animals, and four season delight for humans. There will be spring and summer flowers, spectacular fall colors, and red berries and interesting bark when the snow is on the ground.
