About Roaring Brook Lake

Our welcoming, inclusive community is a close-knit mix of full-time and part-time residents who care for our environment, our lake, and one another.

Located in New York State, the lake is 115 acres, with a maximum depth of 16 feet and a mean depth of eight feet. Around 300 households comprise the Roaring Brook Lake District, a Park District of the Town of Putnam Valley.

Only property owners in the Roaring Brook Lake District, their families, and guests can use the lake for fishing, boating, and swimming. During the winter months, residents can skate, cross-country ski, and ice fish on the lake.

Do you like hiking, wildlife, mountain biking, or cross country skiing? The lake and community are fortunate to be almost completely encircled by the 14,086 acres of undeveloped forest that is NYS Fahnestock Park.
