2023 Preliminary Budget

The town submitted the first draft of the 2023 budget on August 13.

A few highlights:

• The total budget requested is $259,335.

• Nearly half of the budget goes toward recycling and trash pickup.

• The town has requested we hire a second team to give us a proposal on the Dam Engineering Project. That cost will be $35,000. 

• We plan to continue to invest in the valuable lake monitoring, which allows us to keep up the health of the lake overall, as well as work to request grants from the State for lake improvements.

Roaring Brook Lake requested budget for two more projects not listed on the budget:

• First, $7,000 to remove old and dilapidated boats and to repair the racks at Children’s Beach.

• Second, $30,000 to dredge the cove by Children’s Beach and the cove by Park’s Beach. The plan is to bring the dredged land to Children’s Beach to fill in low spots.
